Are you buying an iPad?

Hell, yes… I know I am (surprise, surprise, right?!). I’m definitely on the waiting list… and when I receive it, I’ll be sure to write my own review. But for now, check out this review done by Ben Patterson (a great guy to follow!). Stay tuned for my iPad write up… soon, baby, soon… I can’t wait! EEK!

The iPad arrives, and it’s basically a big iPhone
By Ben Patterson

The long wait is over, the rumors are over, and at last, the Apple tablet is a reality. Armed with a 9.7-inch display, just a half-inch thick, and weighing just a pound and a half, the iPad is … well, it’s essentially just a big iPhone, albeit with a price tag that’s a lot cheaper than I was expecting. Not bad, but if you were hoping for a revolutionary new product, prepare to be disappointed. To read the rest of Ben’s post, click here.

Thanks for the write up, Ben. Always love to hear your opinion (even when I don’t always agree, I still love it!).

Traveling The World… And It’s All About The People

Don’t let this picture fool you. It’s not fake. I took this picture… just last week. Pretty amazing, huh?

I’ve been doing a lot of traveling – and it’s been great, no doubt. But when I sit and think about all of the amazing places I’ve been, I now realize the best part was meeting people… the locals, other tourists, sailors… and the list goes on.

I’m truly blessed to be able to experience the world the way I do. Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a sucker for the water – so I’m practically in heaven while visiting places like this. But again, it’s the people that I’ll remember the most.

Here’s Tijan. He works at the resort I stayed at. First impressions count, right?! He grabbed my hand, kissed it, and asked me my name. The whole time I was there – he remembered my name and was so amazing to all of us throughout our stay (mind you, there’s a ton of people at this resort and he remembers everyone’s name – and their story!). But what I noticed – he wasn’t just being nice because it’s his job, he was truly being genuine. He’s a great person and he wanted to learn more about me and what brought me to the island. He loves the stories that people bring. I’m a story… and I’m certain he won’t forget my story and he’ll tell people about a gal he met from North Dakota.

Or how about this great couple I met. They are actually from the US – and they also have a great story. I don’t have a lot of time to go into it, but they are super people and we spent a lot of time together. They taught me a few things… how to play poker the right way – and most importantly – how to have a great time, enjoy the little things, and love life. Oh, and I almost forgot… Paul’s motto was: If you save money, you’re stupid. Funny.  Love them.  Great friends – for life.

I also realized that the islands are a place full of love, healing, and adventure. They are full of stories, and people that embrace the world around them. They don’t take anything for granted – and they enjoy life day by day. Nothing more, nothing less. They live for the moment.

It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from… when it comes to visiting the islands. The locals and tourists could care less about what your title is, or how much money you have. They just want to be sure that everyone leaves with a smile on their face. They want to make sure that you do things you’ve never done before, you dig your feet into the sand, swim with the fish, feel the sun on your face and always have a margarita in hand… and love the life you live in that moment. Everything else is just noise…

One of my favorite things about the islands is (of course) the water. But the best part – all the land and water that has been untouched by the human hand. Nature at it’s finest. It’s real, pure and preserved. The way it should be. There’s no McDonalds or Starbucks on every corner. Heck, most people don’t have cell phones.

However, we did call for a taxi and a Hummer showed up and took us to town. Funny. It was great.

Thinking back to my time with my new friends… I can’t believe I only knew these people 6 days. Who would have thought? 😉

Well I have to catch up on business and prepare for my next trip. I’m staying in the states next week. I’m heading to Los Angeles and then after that, off to Canada. More to come on the people I meet. Ciao!
